Brno, April 1 (BD) – The newly applied tariff changes will mainly affect children, students and the elderly. With the fare reductions put in place by the previous government, many of them took trains and buses for a few crowns, but the reductions will now be reduced and fares will be back to about half the price of four years.
“In principle, we can say that the discounts are returning to historical levels,” said Květoslav Havlík, spokesman for Kordis in South Moravia. “Prices change for four groups of passengers – children up to 15 years old, young people up to 18 years old, students up to 26 years old and people over 65 traveling outside Brno or exterior of Brno. . Prices for adults remain unchanged.
Public transport in Brno has different discount rules. Young people and students in Brno already had a 50% discount, so there will be no changes. Free transport around the city for pensioners over the age of 70 will also remain in place. However, the new rates will affect children aged 10-15 and seniors, whose rates will increase by 25%.
“Passengers can use prepaid tickets until the end of their validity period. So if they bought an annual subscription in January of this year, it is valid until January of next year and they do not need to change it. Only tickets purchased from April 1 will be more expensive,” said Hana Tomaštíková, spokeswoman for the Brno Transport Company.https://brnodaily.com/2022/04/01/news/transport/as-of-today-tickets-prices-are-changing-children-students-and-seniors-will-pay-extra-to-travel/https://brnodaily.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/DPMB-social-endowment-fund-tram-credit-KB-BD-7-1024×683.jpghttps://brnodaily.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/DPMB-social-endowment-fund-tram-credit-KB-BD-7-150×100.jpgCzech Republic / WorldTransportBrno,Czech Republic,News,TransportationThe Czech government is reducing public transport discounts for young and old from today.
