June 26, 2022 – Croatian Tourism Minister Nikolina Brnjac spoke about this year’s summer tourist season, which by all indications appears to be an improvement even from the record, pre-pandemic year of 2019 .
As Poslovny Dnevnik writing, Croatian Tourism Minister Nikolina Brnjac joined a recently aired program from Studio N1 live broadcast from the city of Osijek in eastern Croatia and revealed whether or not there are fears regarding the figures related to the continued spread of the coronavirus, whether or not there are expectations that this fluctuates in the height of summer and how this might affect tourism as we move forward.
“Croatia has developed the project ‘Safe stay’ with the Croatian National Institute of Public Health. All protocols in this regard have been agreed. This project is now at the level of recommendations. The new coronavirus is still very present .us and that’s why we all have to keep making sure that we respect the (remaining) necessary measures,” said Croatian Tourism Minister Nikolina Brnjac.
She also stressed that we must be careful not to end up in the dark red zone on the ECDC map, which would be a huge blow to what currently looks to be an extremely promising main tourist season.
“Over the past few years, we have proven to tourists and residents of this country with this project that we are a responsible tourist destination. We must be careful not to be in dark red on the map. According to the latest map, we aren’t and I think together we can make sure we don’t end up in that dire straits,” she said.
Speaking of tourism results so far in 2022, she said that by the end of June, the country had already surpassed 20 million recorded overnight stays.
“These figures are extremely good,” she said, adding that now the Republic of Croatia has extremely important plans related to the extension of the tourist season in order to move towards year-round tourism. year to manage and perfect.
